Humanity in Journalism exists to elevate the standards of public storytelling.
We believe journalism is essential to democracy — and so is responsibility, accuracy, and humanity.
Our focus is two-fold:

First: We aim to serve as observers of the observers—reporting on the reporters themselves. Our mission is to illuminate the philosophies that guide their craft, and to learn from their experiences, their decisions, and the principles that shape their work.

Second: Our mission is to bring those human consequences into the center of the conversation about how stories are told.We recognize that every headline impacts real people: families, children, communities, reputations, livelihoods, and mental health.
We analyze reporting styles, identify narrative patterns, and promote trauma-informed practices that honor the dignity of people whose stories enter the public sphere. We offer tools for families navigating press attention, educational resources for the public, and professional insights for journalists striving to report with integrity.
We do not shame, accuse, or divide.
We encourage dialogue, growth, and accountability.
Integrity is not a punishment — it is a standard.
Humanity is not a weakness — it is a requirement.
And storytelling is not neutral — it shapes lives.
This project is a bridge between the press and the people inside the stories.
A reminder that information has impact.
A call for journalism that is as compassionate as it is accurate.
Humanity in Journalism:
Where truth meets responsibility — and reporting honors its human cost.
